MFL DomoAnimate
February 12, 2011
The third of the tools I may or may not have time to mention at ICT Links into Languages conference in Southampton is DomoAnimate.
Below is an example in French, German and Spanish of how this tool has been used in other languages. Note lack of accents :o(

DomoAnimate is very good and was designed as a child friendly version of GoAnimate that includes Domo characters. However, it lacks a lot of the customization functions of GoAnimate (adding outside images, sounds, music, narration, etc.) GoAnimate just released a version for schools called GoAnimate for Schools. The website is http://www.goanimate4schools.com.
Also, accents can be added, at least in Windows, using the Character Map or ALT+ codes.
Thanks for your comment Ed!
I ‘preposted’ this a while ago as I knew I would be really busy just before the event, and only heard of GoAnimate4schools two days prior to the conference so didn’t have time to investigate. My talk was focussed on storytelling predominantly – Storybird, Storyjumper and ZooBurst – and this part was really extras for people to go investigate if they were already familiar with the tools on which i focussed.
I will certainly look at GoAnimate4Schools as soon as I have a spare moment.
News about accents is brilliant – hopefully accented keys on Mac will also work?!
